Dear Foodbank Supporters and Donors,

Since the last update on 30th September, 14 days ago, we have distributed food to 103 people, (which has included 36 children).

Our volunteers have ‘signposted’ the adults visiting our four centres to further help and support in order to begin to move them out of the crisis they are in.

WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR THE ONGOING SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY, AS WE WORK TOGETHER TO FEED PEOPLE GOING HUNGRY IN NUNEATON

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATES

We all would like to thank everyone who donates to the foodbank –  Churches – Schools – local businesses and organisations, and individual donors, who regularly donate food to help those in need locally.

We are always  very pleased to receive individual and corporate cash donations, which help us to purchase bread and spread and other items, such as baby milk, nappies etc which we add to foodparcels as needed.

HARVEST –Part Two

Harvest time is a very important period for foodbanks throughout the country, as generous gifts of non-perishable food at this time compliment our regular donations, and help support our work through to the winter and the Christmas periods.

Many local schools and churches help us at Harvest time, and at the time of writing this update we would like to acknowledge and thank Arley Primary School; Chilvers Coton Infants School; Milby Primary School; Nathaniel Newton Infants School; St James C E Academy Bulkington; Weddington Primary school and Wolvey C E Primary School. We would also like to acknowledge and thank the following churches for their additional support at Harvest time :- All Saints Church Chilvers Coton; Nuneaton Methodist Church; Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Church; The Quaker Meeting House in Hartshill; St James Church Weddington; St Mary’s Abbey Church; St Nicolas Church Nuneaton.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank the following organisations for their support:- 11th Nuneaton Cub Scouts; Aldersgate Housing with Care; Nuneaton Gymnastics Club and The Heart of England Cooperative Funeral Services.

   SHOPPING LIST

We know that people like to know what we are particularly in need of when they are thinking of donating food, and at the moment we would be really grateful for:

UHT Milk; Fruit Juice; Small Instant Mashed Potato;Sugar.

As always, any donations at all are very warmly welcomed, but the above items are particularly needed.

Dave Parr, our warehouse manager, says we are still EXTREMELY WELL STOCKED with Baked Beans (Dave has calculated that we have over 1 million, four hundred thousand individual beans [not tins of bins] – I’m taking his word for it!) –  Cereals, Soup and Dry Pasta.

Again many thanks to you all for your ongoing generous support.

Kind regards,

David
