Latest Foodbank Update – 10th December 2016

10th December 2016

Dear Foodbank Supporters and Donors,

Since the last update on 19th November, we have distributed food to 175 people, (which has included 66 children). Our volunteers have ‘signposted’ the adults visiting our four centres to further help and support in order to begin to move them out of the crisis they are in.

WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR THE ONGOING SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY, AS WE WORK TOGETHER TO FEED PEOPLE GOING HUNGRY IN NUNEATON

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATES

We all would like to thank everyone who donates to the foodbank –  Churches – Schools – local businesses and organisations, and individual donors, who regularly donate food to help those in need locally.

We are always  very pleased to receive individual and corporate cash donations, which help us to purchase bread and spread and other items, such as baby milk, nappies etc which we add to foodparcels as needed.

THANK YOU

In the past week or so, we have been very grateful indeed to receive some very helpful donations.

ARBURY ROTARY CLUB

We were delighted to receive a cheque for £250 from Arbury Rotary Club, to help support the work of the Nuneaton Foodbank.

The President of Arbury Rotary Club, Roger Coopey,  presented a cheque to David Craddick, Vice-Chairman and Treasurer of the Nuneaton Foodbank.

An enormous ‘Thank you’ to all the members of The Rotary Club of Arbury for this wonderful donation, and for your ongoing support for the work of the Nuneaton Foodbank.

ADELE PAGE

We are indebted to Adele Page, has recently been undertaking a range of fundraising activities in aid ofthe Nuneaton Foodbank.

Over £250 has been very kindly donated by Adele to the Foodbank, to support the additional work that we do by providing Christmas Hampers for families in need in the Nuneaton Area.

We work jointly with the Salvation Army on this project, who provide Toys for the children of the families.

Thank you very much Adele for your wonderful support!

TESCO NATIONAL FOOD COLLECTION AT CHRISTMAS TIME ON 2nd and 3rd DECEMBER

Many thanks to all the many volunteers who made this food collection possible last week. We are  processing all the donated food from this collection, and will let you know the total amount collected as soon as possible.

SHOPPING LIST

We know that people like to know what we are particularly in need of when they are thinking of donating food, and at the moment we would be really grateful for:

Coffee; Jam; Mince Pies; Christmas Seasonal Items;

As always, any donations at all are very warmly welcomed, but the above items are particularly needed.

Dave Parr, our warehouse manager, says we are still EXTREMELY WELL STOCKED with Baked Beans (Dave has calculated that we have over 1 million, four hundred thousand individual beans [not tins of bins] – I’m taking his word for it!) –  Cereals, Soup and Dry Pasta.

At this time of year our local SALVATION ARMY is always engaged in trying to make Christmas very special for those in need, especially the children.

We are attaching an appeal for TOYS from Major Neil Denyer, and would ask that you let friends know of this appeal, to give them opportunity to support this tremendous work.

Thank you so much for supporting The Salvation Army Toy Appeal over previous years.

With the help of many people last year we were able to give a present to over  300 children in need.

Again this year for many families their financial situation is getting very difficult and this will be especially hard for the children at Christmas.

The Salvation Army needs your help to make Christmas special for children who will have little or nothing under the tree on Christmas morning.

Please could we ask you to donate a new unwrapped present for a child up to the age of 16 years.

This appeal runs from now until Sunday 11th December.

Thank you very much for your support.

God bless you

With kind regards

Again many thanks to you all for your ongoing generous support.

Kind regards,

David
