9th June 2018 Update and thanks
Dear Foodbank Supporters and Donors,
Thank you very much indeed for your ongoing support, which is so greatly appreciated.
Since the last update, which was two weeks ago on 26th May, we have distributed food to 108 people, (which has included 36 children). Our volunteers have ‘signposted’ the adults visiting our four centres to further help and support in order to begin to move them out of the crisis they are in.

As you can see, over these 2 weeks, we have fed over 50 people a week, and have distributed nearly HALF A TON more food than has come in to the warehouse.
We are aware that many of our regular donors have been away, and that there has also been another Bank Holiday when the warehouse isn’t open to receive donations.
However, we felt that we should alert you to the fact that we have been having to purchase a large quantity of food from within our limited resources, just to make up the requisitions from our four centres.
If you are aware of friends or relatives that might wish to support the work of the foodbank in helping families in need in the local Nuneaton community, and who want to know where they can make food donations, the following places kindly have collection points:-
ASDA; SAINSBURYS; ATTLEBOROUGH CO-OP; BULKINGTON CO-OP; YORKSHIRE BANK; NUNEATON TOWN HALL; CAFFE NERO; NUFFIELD HEALTH GYM and many local churches.
SHOPPING LIST
We know that people like to know what we are particularly in need of when they are thinking of donating food, and at the moment we would be really grateful for:–
Puddings; Fruit Juice; Treats for children; Tinned Meat; Meatballs; Cook-in Sauce; Small jars of coffee;
As always, any donations at all are very warmly welcomed, but the above items are particularly needed.

We all would like to thank everyone who donates to the foodbank – Churches – Schools – local businesses and organisations, and individual donors, who regularly donate food to help those in need locally.
We are always very pleased to receive individual and corporate cash donations, which help us to purchase bread and spread and other items, such as baby milk, nappies etc which we add to foodparcels as needed.
TESCO FOOD COLLECTION
This is taking place on Friday 29th June, and Saturday 30th June.
At the last national collection at the end of November, working with Bedworth Foodbank
at Bedworth , WITH YOUR HELP AND KIND SUPPORT we collected well over 1.94 tons of food, which was a tremendous help to us in meeting the increasing need in Nuneaton.
We now need volunteers for Friday 29th June and Saturday 30th June.
As our regular teams of volunteers will all be working at our food distribution centres on Friday – (we have two regular sessions taking place on Fridays) we really need a large number of volunteers to help us over these two days, and would greatly appreciate your help for one or two hours, especially in the afternoons.
We would really welcome some ‘ONE OFF’ help from people who aren’t volunteers on a regular basis, to support the core team of volunteers.
We will arrange a short briefing beforehand, especially for people who have not done this before, and would really encourage you to help us, on a ‘one off’ basis.
We have attached a sheet for volunteers to fill in. Please could you fill in the form with your name and contact details, and your availability on Friday 29th June or Saturday 30th June.

VOLUNTEERING
In order to provide the support needed at our four centres, which working together give access five days a week to emergency food parcels for those in need, we rely on the help of volunteers. We are always grateful for the help of volunteers, and there are a number of different jobs that need to be done in order to enable the Nuneaton Foodbank to operate efficiently.
