22nd June 2019 Update and thanks
Dear Foodbank Supporters and Donors,
Since the last update two weeks ago on 8th June, we have distributed food to 119 people, (which has included 37 children). Our volunteers have ‘signposted’ the adults visiting our four centres to further help and support in order to begin to move them out of the crisis they are in.
LATEST DATA as at 20th June – data that was unavailable will appear in the next update
|Number of people fed since last update||Total Numbers fed from 1st April 2019||Total Numbers fed since launch in 2013||Food donated since last update||Food distributed since last update||Difference in amount collected|
0.85 of a ton)
|0.23 of a ton more distributed than donated|
As you can see, we have had 0.85 tons of food generously donated over this period, but have distributed 1.08 tons – we have distributed 235.7kgs (0.23 of a ton) more than has been donated over the period.
This has meant that 1.93 tons of food has been processed by the warehouse team since the last update, and we would like to thank all those volunteers involved in collecting, sorting, dating, stacking, and then preparing requisitions to go out from the warehouse.
We have been extremely grateful for all the donations we have received over this period, and we have distributed all of this, and 0.23 of a ton more than this. We could not have done this without your help and support.
TESCO FOODBANK COLLECTION ON FRIDAY 28th JUNE AND SATURDAY 29th JUNE
We will be holding a special collection at TESCO BEDWORTH on Friday 28th June and Saturday 29th June from 0900 until 1700 on both days. We would greatly appreciate the support of shoppers on both of these days, to support us in helping local people in our community who are in need.
This important event would not be possible without the active help of colleagues at TESCO Bedworth, who do everything possible to ensure these collection events are a success. We would like to welcome the new manager of TESCO Bedworth, Owen Culshaw, who is really keen for the store to help support the local community. Pictured here holding a poster to alert shoppers to the events are

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATES
We all would like to thank everyone who donates to the foodbank – Churches – Schools – local businesses and organisations, and individual donors, who regularly donate food to help those in need locally.
We are always very pleased to receive individual and corporate cash donations, which help us to purchase bread and spread and other items, such as baby milk, nappies etc which we add to food parcels as needed.
SHOPPING LIST OF ITEMS WE NEED URGENTLY
We know that people like to know what we are particularly in need of when they are thinking of donating food, and at the moment we would be really grateful for:–

As always, any donations at all are very warmly welcomed, but the above items are particularly needed.

TESCO FOOD COLLECTION
This is taking place on Friday 28th June, and Saturday 29th June.
At the last national collection at the end of November, working with Bedworth Foodbank at Bedworth , WITH YOUR HELP AND KIND SUPPORT we collected well over 2.56 tons of food, which was a tremendous help to us in meeting the increasing need in Nuneaton.
We now need volunteers for Friday 28th June and Saturday 29th June.
As our regular teams of volunteers will all be working at our food distribution centres on Friday –(we have two regular sessions taking place on Fridays) we really need a large number of volunteers to help us over these two days, and would greatly appreciate your help for one or two hours, especially in the afternoons.
We would really welcome some ‘ONE OFF’ help from people who aren’t volunteers on a regular basis, to support the core team of volunteers.
We will arrange a short briefing beforehand, especially for people who have not done this before, and would really encourage you to help us, on a ‘one off’ basis.
We have attached a sheet for volunteers to fill in. Please could you fill in the form with your name and contact details, and your availability on Friday 28th June or Saturday 29th June.
The link below will allow you to access the form.
We especially need help on Saturday afternoon!
PLEASE COULD YOU RETURN THE FORM TO email@example.com
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS ONE OFF COLLECTION OPPORTUNITY
Again many thanks to you all for your ongoing generous support.
